La Noctambulle Cathédrale
Comfort Duplex Reims Apartment • Historic Quarter • Cathedral
45m² in the heart of the City of Coronations
3 rue Brulée, 51100 Reims
An address worth finding
Rue Brulée is not the kind of street you stumble upon. It is a quiet, cobbled lane in the historic heart of Reims, just behind the Voie des Sacres — the ancient ceremonial route along which the kings of France once processed to their coronations. The cathedral is three minutes' walk away. Three real minutes.
You put your bags down, close the door, and realise you are right at the centre of one of France's most historically charged cities — without hearing any of its noise. That is the first surprise.
The second is the light. It comes through generously, through the large windows of this characterful old building — genuinely unexpected for an apartment this well placed. It makes the mornings easy: a Nespresso from the capsules left for you, a tea, no rush.
A duplex with personality
Look up as you walk in: a large Vertigo pendant lamp dominates the room and sets the tone immediately. Forty-five square metres arranged across two levels, an open mezzanine above the living space, and one proper partition — the bathroom, with its full-size bath and shower. Everything else breathes and flows together.
The main bedroom sits upstairs on the mezzanine, with a queen-size bed (160×200cm) above the living room below. On the ground floor, the sofa bed (160×200cm) and the Bo Concept ottoman take care of the others. This is an apartment made for people who know each other well — a family, close friends, a couple with children. The intimacy here is the shared kind, the cosy kind.
If you are two couples hoping for entirely separate spaces, it is worth knowing that before you book. For everyone else, this is exactly the kind of place that makes a city stay feel like something more than just a hotel room. The kitchen is properly equipped for those who want to cook. Otherwise, the whole neighbourhood is within easy walking distance.
Historic city centre, without the palace price tag
What makes this apartment genuinely special is the combination: a location that cannot be bettered, at a price that makes sense. Rue Brulée sits in one of the most historically significant corners of Reims. The cathedral appears as you turn off the street — three minutes on foot. The future fine arts museum, currently being restored, is at the same distance. The Voie des Sacres runs directly behind the building.
And yet: no tourist flow past the windows, no coach party at 8am, no terrace noise drifting up from below. The Place Drouet-d'Erlon — Reims' main square, lined with restaurants, cafés and champagne bars — is less than ten minutes away on foot. The city's best champagne cellars, its market halls, its Gothic architecture: all of it accessible without a car, without a tram, without a plan.
For a stay in the historic heart of Reims at this price, the location simply cannot be beaten.
